The light that helps navigation and pilotage at sea has been always associated with lighthouses, and Macau has been associated with the sea since older times, as a city of trade, fishermen and sailors.

The CEPSI 2008 Logo incorporates the Guia Lighthouse in Macau.

The Guia Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse on the coast of China. Construction of the lighthouse began in 1864 and was completed in 1865.

The Guia Lighthouse has been included in 2005 in the list of UNESCO Heritage.
