Since 1972 CEM has been powering the growth of Macau and continues to satisfy the needs of customers through its commitment to excellent service quality. Improved and expanded services, along with environmental development have been the major pillars of CEM's vision centered on its end-users.

In the last few years, CEM began to implement a strategy of change, which has allowed the company to confront future challenges and which has made it a model company amongst other energy suppliers in Asia. CEM implemented what it calls “Culture of Efficiency” project which aims to create a culture based on the definition of customers' usage and of remuneration to employees according to their performance.

CEM has likewise created the SHEQ Office focusing on the coordination of its activities in the areas of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality. Also enhancing the integrity of the company is its “benchmarking” system, which regularly evaluates and compares CEM's work quality with that of other power companies within the region.
